ABOUT EARTHDRAGON MEDICINE

My approach to health is rooted in Chinese Earth wisdom, Internal Family Systems, Neuro-somatics, and dialogue with the Plant world — synthesized into an embodied relational practice. Music is woven in as an accompaniment to healing when called for.

I am completing my last quarter (June 2026) at Bastyr University, refining my focus in Women's Health, pelvic floor therapy, botanical medicine, physical medicine, nutrition, and nervous system support alongside naturopathic medical education. I continue to deepen my healing philosophy through traditional medicine studies — moving toward a rounded, living practice as I approach licensure as a Naturopathic Doctor in 2027.

My orientation in practice is anchored in my Chinese lineage — a root that grounds me as someone who moves from deep self-knowing.

I respect medicine as a living practice — one of transformative learning, unfolding humility, devotional integration, and service rooted in vitalism and self-liberation.

When I'm not in the clinic, I play harp, make music and art, raise animals, craft meals with care, and find time to play — always gathering and sharing stories along the way.

My music can be found in the icon link below the page.

  • Shannen practices deep listening through embodied presence. She attunes to the subtle tones within each person’s story, helping them clarify their values so that actions, choices, and lifestyle move together in harmony.

Her work draws from the wisdom of Chinese philosophy, which teaches that every person is conceived with information to fulfill their human experience fully, if desired. The body, health, and life continually invite us to return to fluctuating balance and fluidity.

Shannen understands how easily we may comfortably identify with medical labels, which can obscure the simplicity of living. She supports patients in recognizing that nothing one perceives is fixed - our relationship with these labels can either reinforce imbalance or open pathways for transformation and ease.

She is devoted to reimagining medicine beyond inherited structures of dominance and separation - restoring relationship, agency, and reverence to the healing process.

Her approach blends philosophical insight with embodied awareness. She views medicine as a collaborative practice, where the practitioner serves as a guide equipped with tools and vitalistic perspective, rather than authoritative rigidity.

As all of life and the turning of the unfathomable cosmos reveal the essence of relationship, so too does the chapter of healing between patient and practitioner.

  • First and foremost, we prioritize your female nervous system in order to tend to and integrate the rest of your symptoms at Earthdragon Medicine.

My training is also informed by Dr. Aviva Romm’s Integrative and Functional Medicine teachings. My philosophical and full-spectrum methodology to female health honors the interconnectedness of body (which includes emotion and nervous system) and spirit (your consistent life force and purpose). I understand that emotional experiences often shape female health in profound ways, influencing hormonal balance, pelvic function, sleep, and life purpose.

Our work together may include laboratory evaluation, botanical support, bodywork, and trauma-informed somatic counseling, all guided by a whole-person lens. This supports patients in addressing root causes of reduced vitality while deepening embodiment, restoring rhythm, and moving toward your fluid, connected relationship with your body and life.

  • Shannen has trained under several teachers and approaches pelvic floor bodywork through both clinical and animist frameworks. Her work integrates anatomical knowledge and nervous system awareness while also honoring the body as a living, relational system shaped by personal herstory, environment, and meaning.

Pelvic floor bodywork sessions are guided by consent, safety, and attunement. Touch is intentional and responsive to the patient’s cues, supporting regulation rather than forcing release. This approach is especially supportive for individuals experiencing pelvic pain, tension, disconnection, hormonal transitions, or stress held in the body.

Rather than treating the pelvic floor as an isolated structure, Shannen’s work considers posture, breath, emotional patterns, and the nervous system’s role in holding or releasing tension. The goal is to help patients feel more at home in their bodies, develop trust in bodily sensations, and restore a sense of stability, ease, and embodied presence over time.

Each session becomes the client’s opportunity to experience deep relational repair with the Self, ultimately facilitating repair and integration with one’s relationship to life environment.

  • This service encompasses soft tissue techniques with gentle, indirect joint manipulation. Care is guided by careful observation, patient communication, and the body’s own cues, allowing the nervous system to remain engaged and regulated throughout treatment.

The focus is on supporting mobility, easing tension, and restoring ease of movement without force, making this approach well-suited for individuals who are sensitive to touch, recovering from injury, or seeking a more subtle, body-aware form of care.

  • Quiet, supportive space for the nervous system to settle through gentle and attentive touch. These sessions support the body’s natural rhythms and capacity for self-regulation.

Sessions are guided by deep listening and respect for the body’s cues, allowing tension and holding patterns to unwind gradually. Many people experience this work as grounding and restorative, particularly during times of stress, fatigue, or transition.

  • Medical Qigong is a restorative movement practice rooted in classical Chinese medicine, working with breath, posture, and intention to support the smooth circulation of Qi and blood. Through gentle, purposeful movement, a regular Qigong practice helps release held tension, regulate the nervous system, and restore vitality and internal coherence.

Shannen studies Medical Qigong within the Liu family lineage, a tradition grounded in Daoist cosmology and Chinese medical theory. This lineage emphasizes harmonizing—through purposeful forms—the Zang-Fu organs, unblocking Qi, and cultivating health through mindful movement, seasonal attunement, Feng Shui, Daoist astrology, and supportive food and lifestyle practices—offering a comprehensive approach to personal cultivation and long-term well-being.

As she progresses through her studies, Shannen will offer future, community-based group medicine visits to help patients and clients align with the seasons and optimize Qi.

Current Offerings 𓇼

  • Guidance sessions support the nervous system through female nervous system regulation and alignment with natural, Earth-honoring rhythms. Sessions may utilize movement, sensation, and nervous system awareness to gently meet patterns shaped by stress and lived experience. All catered to the client’s current nervous system resources and pace.

Rather than pushing change, we prioritize inner safety and attunement, allowing regulation and resilience to emerge gradually and sustainably.

  • Shannen studies Traditional Chinese nutrition and understands food as a living expression of life force—one that shapes balance across the body, mind, and emotional landscape. Guided by the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, her approach weaves together energetic principles with modern biochemical insight.

Through attention to temperature, flavor, seasonal rhythms, and organ resonance, each meal becomes an opportunity to restore harmony and support the body’s natural intelligence. By aligning nourishment with individual constitution and the cycles of nature, patients are invited into a deeper, more intuitive relationship with food—one that fosters vitality, resilience, and grounded well-being over time.

  • Flower essences are a gentle form of plant medicine prepared from the subtle imprint of a flower at peak bloom. Flowers represent one of the most vital and expressive phases of a plant’s life cycle. They are used to support emotional and energetic shifts through non-pharmacologic pathways and can be taken by mouth as drops or used topically on the skin, depending on individual preference and sensitivity.

When working with flower essences, patients often notice quiet changes over time—such as feeling more emotionally steady, gaining clarity around inner patterns, or sensing a softening in places that previously felt guarded or “unthawed.” Effects are typically subtle rather than dramatic and unfold gradually with consistent use.

Flower essences are non-habit forming and safe to use alongside other therapies. They are most effective when integrated thoughtfully into a broader care plan that supports nervous system regulation and emotional integration.

  • Energy healing integrates Reiki with plant-based energetic support to promote relaxation, balance, and nervous system regulation. Sessions are offered in a quiet, cozy space and are intended to support subtle shifts in awareness, connection, and overall sense of harmony.

  • Somatic Sonic Sanctuary is a sound healing immersion where crystal tones and elemental rhythms are used to support nervous system regulation, embodiment, and deep rest. Informed by training with the Globe Institute and shaped by trauma-aware, earth-honoring practice, sessions offer a supportive space for integration, reflection, and restoration.

This experience is designed to gently engage the body through sound and vibration, allowing the nervous system to settle while awareness and connection deepen over time.

  • A plant-based pelvic steaming ritual guided by Cassandra Arias’ Pythia Academy lineage, offered as a supportive practice for grounding, nervous system settling, and energetic restoration. Pelvic steaming may support the pelvic bowl by encouraging local circulation, soft tissue relaxation, and parasympathetic nervous system activation.
